Troubleshooting conversion failures

If Upload and convert fails or returns zero posts, use this checklist. Do not send your ZIP to support—describe the conversion name, platform (Facebook / X), and the error text from the status banner.

Common causes

  • Wrong file type — Must be an official platform export ZIP, not a folder you zipped yourself.
  • Incomplete download — Re-download if the ZIP is tiny or won’t open locally.
  • Corrupted ZIP — Re-export from Meta or X.
  • Unsupported export layout — Rare format changes; note export date and platform in support.
  • Conversion already running — Wait for the current conversion to finish before uploading again.

What to try

  1. Check the status message on Import & review.
  2. Confirm upload progress reached 100% for every file.
  3. Upload missing parts if Meta split the export into multiple ZIPs.
  4. Click Start new conversion only if the upload itself is suspect.
  5. Try Re-convert files under Advanced options after fixing the ZIP.
  6. Read the error text verbatim when contacting support (paid users: in-app chat).

After a successful conversion

Open Parsed posts, pick your conversion, and use Included only if you marked posts excluded during review.
