Local .fbzpkg conversion package
Browser-specific file. A .fbzpkg is encrypted for the same browser profile that downloaded it — not a portable USB-style backup. It will not open in another browser, on another computer, or after clearing this site’s data. Server copies are temporary (purged after download or within ~72 hours). Always download a .fbzpkg after saving edits to keep your work on this browser.
Why .fbzpkg?
- Your durable copy on this browser — Keep parsed posts and media references locally; the server only stages data while you work.
- Encrypted to this profile — Sealed with device-held keys (public key on server; private key only in this browser’s storage). That is why the file is browser-specific.
- Resume without re-upload — Open from My packages (this device) in the same browser instead of sending the Facebook ZIP again.
- Same idea as chat archive — Download a package, keep working in the app; the server copy may be short-lived.
How to download
- Sign in at /webv/.
- Load your export ZIP and wait for conversion to finish.
- Open Parsed posts and save your edits (text, hashtags, include flags).
- Click Download .fbzpkg (home or Parsed posts toolbar). Large conversions may take a few minutes — the app polls until the file is ready.
- Save the file where you can find it. On Chrome/Edge you may link the file for one-click Load later in this same browser.
How to re-open
- Use the same browser and profile where you downloaded the package (do not use a private/incognito window for long-term work).
- Go to My packages (this device) in the sidebar.
- Click Load on a saved entry, or Choose .fbzpkg file… to pick from disk.
- Review continues on Parsed posts — edits auto-save in this browser. Use Download updated .fbzpkg to write changes into a new file on disk (still sealed to this profile).
Important limits
- One browser profile only — Copying the .fbzpkg file to another PC, Chrome profile, Firefox, Edge, or phone will fail with a “different browser profile” message. Open it only where you downloaded it.
- Clearing site data creates a new device — “Clear cookies / site data” for fbzip2blue.com removes the private key. Keep your file, but you will need a fresh download from an active server session (if still available) — you cannot unlock an old package after clearing data.
- Not a substitute for support ZIPs — Never email .fbzpkg or Facebook export ZIPs; use contact with conversion name and error text only.
- Server retention — While you work, data may live on the server; after download, server copies may be removed within 72 hours depending on configuration.
