Facebook archive to Bluesky: step-by-step

Moving from Facebook to Bluesky works best when you review before you publish. FbZip2Blue is a browser-based workflow: upload your Meta export ZIP, parse posts and media, edit in a table, then publish to Bluesky with a paid license. No desktop app to install.

Overview

1. Export

Download your Facebook information ZIP from Meta.

2. Upload + parse

Chunked upload; background parse job.

3. Review

Edit, filter, bulk hashtags, preview.

4. Publish

Bluesky app password; dry run first.

Prerequisites

  • Facebook export ZIP — see how to download your Facebook export
  • FbZip2Blue account (sign in at /webv/)
  • Bluesky App Password (Settings → App passwords) if you will publish
  • Modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari)

Step 1 — Create a session and upload

  1. Go to /webv/ and sign in.
  2. On Import & review, click Create upload session.
  3. Optional: set session name, workflow status, and notes, then Save session info (paid plans).
  4. Choose files → select your Facebook ZIP(s) → Upload selected ZIP files.
  5. Wait for the progress bar to finish (large files use chunked upload).

Step 2 — Parse the archive

  1. Click Queue parse job.
  2. Use Refresh job or Wait until complete.
  3. When finished, note posts / images / videos detected.
  4. If a job is already running, the app returns that job instead of starting a duplicate—wait for it to finish.

Step 3 — Review on Parsed posts

Open Parsed posts from the sidebar or Saved sessions.

  • Use paging and Included only to focus on what you will publish.
  • Edit text, hashtags, and group selector per row.
  • Toggle Include in upload for each post.
  • Use bulk hashtags and bulk include/exclude for many rows at once (paid).
  • Free plan: parse and preview up to 10 posts included—see in-app banner for exact limits.

Step 4 — Publish to Bluesky (paid)

  1. On Parsed posts, find the Bluesky card.
  2. Enter handle and App Password (not your main Bluesky password).
  3. Enable Dry run and publish one test post—read the log.
  4. Choose Long post publish mode if posts exceed ~300 graphemes (Auto, Article + link, Thread split, or Short only).
  5. Disable dry run when ready; use single-row Publish or Bulk publish.
  6. Support chat (paid users) is available inside /webv/ for migration questions—do not paste your ZIP into chat.

Resume later

Sessions are stored on FbZip2Blue’s production database. Open Saved sessions anytime to continue—no need to re-upload unless you started a new import.

Pricing (CAD)

  • Free — explore parsing and limited preview
  • Standard — one-time license for full save/edit/publish (see Shopify checkout in app)
  • Agency — multiple Bluesky accounts (up to 10) for client work — agency guide
