What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use your private Messenger/WhatsApp message history for advertising.
- We do not ask you to email or chat your full export ZIP to support — use conversion name and error text only.
Retention
- Chat archive builds: server copies of message content are deleted after you download or within 72 hours, whichever comes first (see chat archive guide).
- Local .fbzpkg packages: encrypted packages you download stay on your browser/device; server conversion copies may be short-lived after download or removed within ~72 hours depending on configuration (see .fbzpkg guide).
- Upload / parse data: retained while your conversion is active and as needed to provide the service; you may delete conversions from the app where available.
- Account data: retained while your account exists and as required by law (tax, fraud prevention).
- Analytics: per Matomo Cloud settings (configure retention in Matomo admin).
Cookies and similar technologies
The marketing site (Drupal) and web app may use cookies or local storage for sign-in (Auth0), session state, and analytics. Matomo can be configured for cookie-less analytics. If we use non-essential cookies in Quebec, we will present a consent mechanism as required by Law 25.
Third-party services
Data may be transferred outside Quebec and Canada (notably the United States). We use providers that offer contractual protections appropriate to the sensitivity of the data.
Your rights (Quebec & Canada)
Subject to applicable law (Quebec Law 25, PIPEDA), you may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information, withdraw consent for optional processing where applicable, and file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (CAI) or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
To exercise your rights, email admin@fbzip2blue.com from the address tied to your account. We will respond within timelines required by law.
Security incidents
If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the CAI as required by Quebec Law 25, and take reasonable steps to reduce harm.
Children
The service is not directed at children under 14. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change; material changes may be announced on the site or by email where appropriate.
